Sabine Traxler, MBA

Sabine Traxler

Job Description:

interimistic head of study program International Business Engineering

My educational path:

In a roundabout way!

  • HAK (in addition to completing the apprenticeship in the evening).

  • MBA (part-time) at the FH Eisenstadt many certification courses and exams in the field of pharmacovigilance

What makes it interesting for me?

The diversity that I encounter every day. The exchange with students, the transfer of knowledge on different levels. Noticing when teaching content is taken up with interest by the students and an exciting discourse takes place. When critical questioning is started based on what has been learned. Having the opportunity to constantly learn and develop. Being involved in exciting research projects and thus always learning something new. The exchange with colleagues, being able to share in their experience and provide knowledge yourself.

Why do I work in this job?

The exchange and the joint work with the students are the highlights of this profession for me personally. There is nothing more beautiful to see than when students start to implement what they have learned. When you start to question things. And you meet so many interesting people, everyone has their story and their experiences that you get to know over time. Students who sit in the lecture hall in the evening despite 40-hour jobs and families. Struggling through, not getting discouraged. You accompany all these people, with their stories, on this “journey”. You are a part of it for these six semesters. On the day of graduation, this journey comes to an end – and I admit – I feel a little nostalgic every time. For all that it is worth it!

Why me?

This course is offered in evening form, so many of the students are already working. The requirements (perhaps also the understanding) are different, and I think I can relate to that well, since I myself studied part-time (and with a small child). I enjoy teaching, interacting with people is important to me and forms an absolutely necessary foundation for what I do every day. The famous “lifelong learning” describes me quite well and that is also essential for this profession (this vocation).

What would make this job even better?

If Even Better? Tricky question, because I really feel very comfortable in my position. Maybe a little more in terms of design freedom, which can also be used for short-term planning.

This is the advice I would give to my 15 year old self:

It doesn’t always have to go “straight ahead”. On the contrary, it is the detours that lead you to your goal. Trust yourself more and don’t see failure as failure. On the contrary, it will take you much further than you think.
