Role Models: When Experts talk
UASTW Job Talks
“What is technology?” “Do time machines really exist?” “Aren’t physics and chemistry the same thing?”
A special highlight was the chance to experience a mobile robot up close and conduct a laser experiment. These hands-on activities gave the girls a tangible insight into how technical concepts are applied in practice.
The career fields presented—ranging from physics and mechatronics/robotics to IT and TLC tool support—showed just how creative and diverse the world of technology can be. The girls’ curiosity and many questions highlighted the importance of role models who inspire them and demonstrate that technology is not only full of exciting challenges but also offers fantastic opportunities!
We are excited to continue supporting young women in discovering and pursuing careers in technical fields.

Lab tour at the UASTW
From water snails and zebrafish to artificial lungs and ventilators – on November 29, 2024, the foyer of FHTW quickly became a meeting point for women with tech ambitions: Nine young women from the *peppa girls’ center took part in the Open Day.
During an exclusive lab tour at the Faculty of Life Science Engineering, the group gained fascinating insights into research at the university and received an initial orientation for their potential entry into the world of technology.
Why all this? Because we want equality – including in the workplace! STEM subjects are still considered male-dominated fields, even though they are crucial for actively shaping our society.
Our message is clear: Girls and women play a key role in making the future of these fields more diverse and innovative!
