UAS Technikum Wien has an obligation towards society and the economy to offer innovative and forward-looking teaching. Equally important is to deal responsibly with the diversity of the people working and studying at the UAS and to make the resulting potential and opportunities available to all concerned.

After receiving the first award in 2016, FH Technikum Wien was awarded the Diversitas Prize of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research for the second time in December 2018. In 2018, FHTW was the only university of applied sciences to receive an award, as well as the only tertiary educational institution to be awarded the prize twice in a row.
