A1 Opens Doors: Insights for Dual Students of Computer Science on Company Day

27 February, 2024

An exciting Company Day provided a look behind the scenes: A1 Telekom Austria opened its doors to students on the Bachelor of Computer Science Dual degree program.

On 22.02.2024, a Company Day was held with A1 Telekom Austria and students from the Bachelor of Computer Science Dual degree program at UAS Technikum Wien. The morning was characterized by lively interaction. As part of a “market”, the students had the opportunity to get to know employees from various teams personally, gain insights into the diverse areas of responsibility and get answers to topics that are particularly relevant to them in personal discussions.

The variety of development opportunities at A1 was particularly emphasized. Sound, practical training is very important. However, in a field such as IT, where knowledge changes rapidly, curiosity, enthusiasm and the ability to learn new things quickly are also particularly important.

This is also reflected in the curriculum of the Bachelor’s degree course in Computer Science. It is designed in such a way that students build up comprehensive knowledge of the basics and at the same time develop the skills they need to acquire new knowledge quickly and confidently.

Since 2017, A1 has been a partner company of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien for the Bachelor of Computer Science Dual, giving students the opportunity to gain valuable insights and practical experience in a renowned company during their studies. A total of 62 UAS students have joined the A1 team in various areas over the past seven years. Some of them have already successfully completed their studies and are now continuing their careers at A1.

A big thank you goes to the A1 team for the exciting discussions and insights during the Company Day!
