To ensure that degrees earned in Austria by students from countries outside the EU are also recognized in their home countries, domestic universities must be accredited there. The UAS Technikum Wien has now carried out this accreditation with the authorities in Jordan.
The UAS Technikum Wien continues to drive internationalization forward and is now also accredited as a university of applied sciences in Jordan. Such formal confirmation is important so that students from countries outside the EU can also have their degrees earned in Austria recognized in their home countries.
“We are pleased that after intensive efforts we have succeeded in obtaining this accreditation,” says Gerd Christian Krizek, Head of International Programs at the Technikum Wien Academy. “This means that we can also provide students from Jordan with access to our degree programs.”
Students from third countries who want to take the entrance test at the FH Technikum Wien or begin studies at another university must take supplementary exams for this purpose, depending on their country of origin. The UAS Technikum Wien offers the Pre College Program (PCP) and the Pre College Program Extended (PCPex) in which students can take these supplementary exams. The one or two-year courses, which are run by the Technikum Wien Academy, are each tailored to the German language skills of the participants. After completion of the PCP or PCPex, it is possible to immediately participate in the regular application procedure for a Bachelor’s or Master’s program. However, completion of the program does not guarantee admission to the degree programs of the FH Technikum Wien, but prepares the participants in content-related areas that are necessary for their future studies in a technical field: German, mathematics, physics, computer science, electrical engineering, biology and English.
