Atos and UAS Technikum Wien are pleased to announce the successful handover of 32 blade servers worth 250,000 euros to the University of Applied Sciences. In the future, the servers will support educational operations and secure research and teaching with sufficient computing capacity at the educational campus in the coming years.

New servers strengthen cooperation for the training of IT specialists

The ceremonial handover took place on September 8 in the presence of representatives of Atos and the management of UAS Technikum. For reliable network communication with high data throughput, Atos also provides six network switches for integration into the UAS network. With this server configuration, all requirements regarding computing power and storage capacity were met. In the future, this will enable the students and researchers at UAS Technikum Wien to perform complex calculations faster and to realize demanding projects. With this donation, Atos strengthens the already existing cooperation with the Technikum Wien Academy for the training of academic IT specialists.

Johann Martin Schachner, CEO of Atos Austria, is delighted with the handover and particularly emphasizes the benefits of the cooperation with UAS Technikum Wien: “As Atos, we are proud to support the educational activities at the campus of UAS Technikum Wien with this donation. Especially in our industry there is a lot of change, which makes lifelong learning indispensable. As a cooperation partner of the Technikum Wien Academy, we also support the course to become an academic ERP consultant and at the same time give our employees the opportunity to participate in the training and further education to become an urgently needed IT specialist. Already in the course of the training, participants take on their own projects and are involved in customer projects as junior SAP consultants at the Atos Group.”

Florian Eckkrammer, Managing Director of UAS Technikum Wien: “For us, intensive cooperation with companies is an important part of the work of a modern technical university. Atos is an important partner here. The fact that a globally active company now also supports us with infrastructure naturally makes us particularly happy.”
