Building an inspiring professional network: Kickoff for this year’s WeCanTech mentoring program for female students

19 December, 2023

The WeCanTech mentoring program has been in place for several years to support women in their personal development and career choices. A kick-off event for this year’s academic year took place at the end of November.

This year, the WeCanTech mentoring program at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien unites a particularly large variety of 13 female Bachelor and Master students from 9 different degree programs. The task of Mariella Müller (Equality Manager at UAS Technikum Wien) was once again this year to find the best match between the female students and suitable mentors from business and industry.

A network of blossoming talents: meeting of female students and mentors

At the end of November, a group of 13 highly motivated and bright female tech students met their mentors for the first time. “This is a fantastic network of great women in the tech industry. The enthusiasm and energy in the room was infectious. Bringing these young talents together with experienced mentors not only promises personal growth, but also a sustainable strengthening of the presence of women in the tech world,” says Mariella Müller. According to Müller, a heartfelt thank you goes to “all the mentors from different companies who generously give their time and knowledge to support the next generation of female tech experts.”
