Cooperation deepened: UASTW delegation trip to Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts

31 May, 2022
Following the visit from Lucerne in November 2021, a high-ranking delegation from UAS Technikum Wien traveled to HSLU in early May to further expand the ties between the two universities.
Managing Director Florian Eckkrammer, together with representatives of the faculties of Industrial Engineering (Patrick Eisner, Andrea Mizelli-Ojdanic, Viorica Sirghii), Electronic Engineering & Entrepreneurship (Michael Windisch) and Computer Science & Applied Mathematics (David Meyer), embarked on a trip to our neighbors in Switzerland.
The trip took the UASTW delegation to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), with which the UASTW already cooperates in double-degree programs in the fields of Robotics Engineering and Industrial Engineering & Business. The visit to Lucerne served to further intensify the links between the two institutions as well as to initiate cooperation with the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
During the campus tours, the Immersive Realities Center aroused particular interest. Participants could actively immerse themselves in the fusion of the real and the virtual by means of augmented and virtual reality. In the area of technology and architecture at the Horw campus, the “iHome Lab”, a research center for building intelligence, smart energy management and active assisted living, was particularly impressive. In addition, the excellently equipped mechanical engineering laboratories (bioenergy laboratory, production engineering laboratory, hydro laboratory, materials testing laboratory, thermo laboratory, analytics laboratory) were visited.
Inspired by this exemplary exchange of knowledge and experience, the delegation returned to Vienna full of new ideas and with a clear roadmap for the future.
