EBC*L Certificate Award Ceremony under the Banner of the Flag Project

On October 20, 2023, another EBC*L award ceremony took place at UAS Technikum Wien. Before the successful graduates received their certificates, Prof. Daniel F. Leutgeb, Head of the EBC*L Academy at UAS, spoke about EBC*L marketing activities at UAS. The flag project is currently of particular interest.
The best product, the best service, the best program is useless if nobody knows about it. This realization was the basis for the emergence of the business sub-discipline of marketing. Marketing is intended to provide information, encourage people to buy products, use services and/or participate in programmes and thus ensure the long-term survival of companies, institutions, organizations and facilities. According to the American economist Philip Kotler, there have been three development phases in marketing. In the beginning, marketing activities focused on increasing product sales. After that, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty programs came to the fore. Today, the focus is on improving the world and communicating values – as the current sustainability debate shows, for example.
EBC*L Marketing Activities at UAS
The business sub-discipline of marketing is also an essential part of Level B of the EBCL program. According to Prof. Daniel F. Leutgeb, “it is not enough just to teach marketing. It should also be actively used for the EBCL program. The focus here is on increasing awareness of the program. The target groups are primarily the students at UAS Technikum Wien, but also external interested parties.” The current marketing activities include:
- Regularly sending out e-mails to all students to inform them promptly about EBC*L courses starting,
- Three in-house EBC*L signs (two in the entrance area of the F building and one on the 6th floor of the B building),
- Dedicated EBC*L Academy page on the Campus Information System (CIS) of UAS https://www.technikum-wien.at/ebcl-academy/,
- Two certificate award ceremonies per year,
- Article on the EBC*L-Academy page following each certificate award ceremony and
- Technikum Podcast #04 on “The European Business Driving License” published on youtube.com https://www.technikum-wien.at/ebcl-academy/.
The Flag Project
Another marketing measure that has been planned for several years now appears to be nearing completion, namely a dedicated EBC*L flag.
The revised design was presented to the EBCL graduates at the EBCL award ceremony on October 20, 2023 and their feedback was obtained. The students provided very constructive suggestions, which are currently being incorporated into the draft design. There are still a few steps to go, in particular approval of the final design and production of the flag. However, the signs are good that the project can be completed in 2024.
The Certificate Award Ceremony
After the design survey, the head of the EBCL Academy awarded the certificates for the successfully completed examinations from the summer semester 2023 on October 20, 2023. Five graduates received the level A certificate, 12 the level B certificate, 4 graduates the level C certificate and 5 graduates were awarded the title EBCL-Certified Manager, which certifies the successful completion of all three levels. It is possible that the flag will be raised at the next EBC*L award ceremony.
