eBook on internationalization of study programmes at UAS Technikum Wien

The IoCEST-project team of the UAS Technikum Wien published an e-book – full of ideas, concepts and field reports.
The globalization of business and science requires an even stronger internationalization of universities in order to meet the demand of companies for graduates with excellent professional, foreign language and intercultural skills. Against this background, various measures to increase the degree of internationalization of the university were conceived and implemented within the framework of the project Internationalization of the Curricula in Engineering, Environmental, Smart Cities and Sport Technologies (IoCEST) at the UAS Technikum Wien, which is funded by the City of Vienna. In addition to activities to promote mobility, the development of measures for the internationalisation of the curricula of all degree programs – for example in the form of increased treatment of topics with international relevance or the holding of specialist events in English – was a particular focus of the project work.
The internationalization of curricula and other activities in the sense of internationalization at home (e.g. extra-curricular foreign language courses, support for incoming students, etc.) are intended to offer those students who, for professional, financial or other reasons, are unable to complete a semester abroad alternatives for developing foreign language or intercultural skills during their studies. In this e-book, members of the project team present selected results of the project work.
„We hope that some of the activities outlined above will be of interest elsewhere.“
