Everything you need to know about studying abroad: The International Fair moves back on campus!

International Fair

21 September, 2021

Guidance, exchange and networking: At the International Fair, numerous students took the opportunity to get advice on studying abroad.

Either for a semester abroad or a traineeship – at the International Fair on September 16, students of the UAS Technikum Wien were able to receive information about possibilities for a stay abroad as part of their studies. After two editions in an online format, the International Office team was able to move their event back on campus for the first time after the last 1.5 years. The lively interest was quite satisfying: Around 70 participants attended the International Fair and took the opportunity to exchange information and experiences.

Numerous incoming students advised their colleagues on their particular home institutions and also took the opportunity of networking among themselves. As far as potential outgoing students are concerned, the desire to travel and to spend a semester abroad has increased, reports the International Office team. This time, even more faraway destinations such as Mexico, the US or South Korea were in strong demand.

The motives for a stay abroad are quite diverse – while interesting study programs at partner institutions offer an incentive for some students, others would like to experience new languages or improve their English. Sometimes cultural interest is also one of the reasons – for example, one student inquired about the possibilities of salsa dancing in Barcelona.

External partner institutions were also present at the International Fair and demonstrated their offers. For example, the Marshall Plan Scholarship provided information about research stays in the US, the Institut Français presented specific information about studying in France. Additionally, the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) informed about their numerous activities.
