Fit for the future of digital mechanical engineering

03 May, 2023

The Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering at the FH Technikum Wien focuses on product development and simulation and relies on a strong cooperation with AVL as well as an attractive time model – apply now!

Mechanical engineering is a key discipline for the economy and society. The master’s program at the FH Technikum Wien provides students with the necessary know-how to meet the challenges of the new, digitalized mechanical engineering. The application period for the winter semester 2023 is currently still open.

“Our study program is characterized by its proximity to industrial practice,” says program director Patrick Eisner. “With digital product development as well as numerical simulation, we have placed two promising fields at the center of the study program.”

Cooperation with AVL

For the past year, the study program has been cooperating with AVL, one of the world’s leading mobility technology companies for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry as well as other technical fields. “For us as an educational institution, this gives us the opportunity to use state-of-the-art simulation technologies for the development, simulation and testing of drive systems for research and educational purposes,” Eisner says. In addition, participation in this program offers students and young researchers the opportunity to efficiently conduct their research on the analysis and optimization of components and systems at the engine, powertrain and vehicle level.

Career-enabling time model

Another advantage is the career-friendly attendance policy. Attendance at the university is scheduled during the day on Wednesday through Friday, with no classes on Monday and Tuesday. This time model has proven successful in allowing students to work part-time while pursuing their degree.
