Hackathon with innovative approaches for the healthcare system ehealth hack

SanusX eHealth Hackathon took place in cooperation with the faculties of Computer Science & Applied Mathematics and Life Science Engineering.

From May 12 to 14, the SanusX eHealth Hackathon took place in cooperation with the faculties of Computer Science & Applied Mathematics and Life Science Engineering. The eHealthHack’23 was about promoting innovative ideas in the eHealth field and implementing them as prototypes.

To give first clues, the following challenges were presented:

  • Primary Care
  • Active Ageing
  • Pharmacies
  • Mental Health
  • Open challenge


Five student teams with a total of 21 participants, among others from the following study programs,

  • Bachelor Biomedical Engineering
  • Master Medical Engineering and eHealth
  • Bachelor Computer Science
  • Bachelor Electronics/Business


have taken up the challenges.

After two and a half intensive days, the three best projects were selected:

1. Platz – €1.500: CodeRadar
“A therapist-client matching platform, with chatbot integration to handle onboarding, referring of patients to therapists and suggesting a trained specialist to intervene (targeted to therapists in training)”

2. Platz – €1.000: HackaboyzzzZ
“AktivWalter App, a flutter (cross-platform) app, with Flask backend and OpenAI integration for personalised daily challenge, the app provides small nudges, gamification, and daily challenges, users are more likely to build up healthy habits, targeted to 50-65 yrs.”
Used technologies: Flutter, Flask, ApenAI

3. Platz – €500: NeverCallAgain
“A text-to-speech + speech-to-text solution to call and book doctor appointments, possible for both doctors (reduces HR costs) to take patient calls, and for patients to Never Call Again.”
Used technologies: HuggingFace for AI model, Vue.js + Flask Backend, Nvidia Nemo, Pytorch
