Hands-on Learning: Reception with Inverto at the Long Night of Research

29 May, 2024

Parallel to the Long Night of Research, students at UAS Technikum Wien were given an insight into INVERTO’s management consultancy. Managing Director Rudolf Trettenbrein presented the diverse career opportunities in consulting, which can serve as a springboard into industry.

On May 24, 2024, the traditional reception with representatives of INVERTO took place as part of the course Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions in the Master Industrial Engineering and Business (MIB) held by Wolfgang Neussner. INVERTO is part of BCG and a specialized management consultancy for purchasing & supply chain management.

Students introduced to the world of consulting

At the event, which took place alongside the Long Night of Research, Managing Director Rudolf Trettenbrein introduced students to the world of consulting, where industrial engineers and graduates from other disciplines are in high demand. Many consultants use the job as a “stepping stone” to one of the clients, while others stay in the varied industry for many years. The event was also used to make important contacts and exchange professional information.

Course Director Maximilian Lackner emphasized that guest lectures from the business world are an essential element of the course to ensure practical relevance. “As far as I know, the last of our students to switch to management consultancy decided to do so during a company visit on a study trip – he had his job offer before he returned from Mexico,” said Lackner.
