Innovative IT companies visited during study tour to Bratislava

27 June, 2023

Students of the FH Technikum Wien gained a comprehensive insight into various companies and their working methods during a four-day study trip to Bratislava.

In early May 2023, Benedikt Salzbrunn and Timothy Berens, together with 16 students from the Bachelor’s program in Computer Science and the Master’s program in Software Engineering (both faculty Computer Science & Applied Mathematics), undertook a four-day study trip to Bratislava.

The selection of companies and organizations offered a diverse mix. This gave the students a comprehensive insight into different companies and their working methods. In addition, the students were able to meet exciting personalities abroad and broaden their personal horizons. A total of six companies or organizations were visited: Behavioral Research & Innovations Slovakia, ESET, Innovatrics Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies, Lighting Beetle and Pixel Federation.

Getting to know the capital of the neighboring country better

“It was inspiring to visit different IT companies and see their innovative work firsthand. It opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that lie ahead in this field,” said one student from FH Technikum Wien in an anonymous survey.

The students’ feedback on the trip was extremely positive throughout. For example, the joint dinners (sponsored by FHTW) were mentioned as the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas and get to know each other better, thus strengthening the cohesion.

Thanks to sponsorship by the International Office of the FH Technikum Wien, the students were able to get to know the capital of the neighboring country better through a guided tour of the city, among other things, and the participants were thus able to familiarize themselves with Bratislava’s cultural history.
