30 October, 2023
Junior Researcher Laura Legat attended the 18th International Conference on Information Systems at the University of Paderborn from September 18-21, 2023 to present the Research Paper “Improving Externalization and Sharing of Tacit Knowledge Within Dispersed ISD Teams Through Agility: A Model”, which was accepted as a poster. The paper was authored by Laura Legat and David Rückel from the Digital Enterprise & UX competence area.
The International Conference on Business Informatics and Information Systems is the most important conference on business informatics research in the German-speaking world. It offers scientists, entrepreneurs and young professionals the opportunity to learn about the state of the art in current research and enables an exchange between academia and practice. The Flagship Conference is also the official mouthpiece of the Scientific Commission on Information Systems (WKWI).
Paper content: Externalization and dissemination of tacit knowledge within a globally distributed software project team
The paper is about how to promote the externalization and dissemination of tacit knowledge within a globally distributed software project team, using practices based on the agile principles known from software development.
To this end, the “Environment Pyramid” was developed as a holistic model consisting of two parts. With this, one looks at the company as a whole and the prerequisites for the processes “externalization” and “dissemination” of implicit team knowledge are thus created.
