„Internationalisering onderweg“: Delegation trip to the Netherlands

12 October, 2023

From 2 to 5 October, eight colleagues from the UAS Technikum Wien visited the three partner institutions, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, TU Delft and Fontys ICT.

The fact that internationalization does not only happen at the desks of the home university, but above all in conversation and exchange with international colleagues from our partner universities, became clear once again during the delegation trip through the Netherlands. Eight colleagues from the four faculties of the UAS Technikum Wien as well as the International Office and R&D went on a trip through the Netherlands: in The Hague, the delegation visited the Global Strategy & Community Hub of The Hague UAS, and at its campus in Delft talks were held with the faculties of Technology, Innovation & Sciences and IT & Design.

At TU Delft, the delegation was welcomed by the Faculty of Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering and discussed cooperation opportunities in the field of Technical Medicine. During a visit to the Department of Quantum Engineering and Computer Engineering and the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the existing Master’s programs and research projects in Quantum Engineering were discussed. At a subsequent dinner in Delfts Brouwhuis, the colleagues shared their impressions and experiences.

Delegation trip showed new cooperation opportunities with partner universities

The last stop was the visit to Fontys ICT, where their innovative teaching model was discussed. Colleagues from the Technology, Business and Software Engineering departments gave the delegation visitors an insight into their teaching. An excursion to Fontys Engineering also offered the opportunity to network with colleagues from Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Delegation trips at the UAS Technikum Wien are not only aimed at getting to know the higher education institutions better, but also improving communication between the faculties and thus represent even more added value for the UAS Technikum Wien. In summary, the delegation trip to the Netherlands provided valuable insights as well as new opportunities for cooperation with our partner institutions.

The following degree programs are open for student mobility to our partner institutions:

All staff members of the FH Technikum Wien from teaching, research and administration have the possibility to use Erasmus+ funds for a stay abroad for teaching or training purposes. Information on the process of staff mobility on the website.
