The Green science spokeswoman toured labs and completed a working interview with the executive director, rector and equality manager.
Eva Blimlinger, member of the National Council and science spokesperson for the Green Party, visited UAS Technikum Wien in mid-September. Managing Director Florian Eckkrammer, Rector Sylvia Geyer and Equality Manager Mariella Müller first took her on an on-site visit to laboratories in the field of life science engineering. Here they also discussed the new Environmental and Bioprocess Engineering degree program, which is currently under development. In the future, the combination of biotechnology and environmental engineering will make it possible to learn two important future technologies that play a significant role in meeting current challenges.
Afterwards, faculty head Carina Huber-Gries together with staff showed experimental setups around projects in the field of ecotoxicology, especially on the impact of microplastics and the environment. Afterwards, the former rector of the Academy of Fine Arts had a working discussion with the representatives of the FHTW. Among other things, they discussed the current and future number of study places and a possible expansion of UAS Technikum Wien.
