Oesterreichs Energie Award 2024 for Program Director David Fellner

26 September, 2024
The Director of the Renewable Energy degree programs at UAS Technikum Wien was awarded for his dissertation on fault detection in energy distribution systems.
David Fellner, Director of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Renewable Energies, was awarded the Oesterreichs Energie Prize 2024 for his dissertation. The award is a cooperation between Oesterreichs Energie and the Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering and was presented on September 19 at the Congress Center Villach.
In his dissertation at TU Wien (“Data Driven Detection of Misconfigurations in Power Distribution Systems”, supervised by Vice Rector Wolfgang Kastner), Fellner developed a data-driven monitoring approach that can detect misconfigurations in the power grid using various methods.
In doing so, he made a contribution to dealing with the increasing challenges facing the energy grid due to renewable energies and decentralized distribution – important topics in teaching and research at UAS Technikum Wien.
