Rector Sylvia Geyer visited the MI(N)TMACHCLUB

30 November, 2023

Girls aged between 12 and 14 spent a week tinkering with technology and science in workshops.

Female students at the Vienna University of Technology have launched the MI(N)TMACHCLUB. The aim is to arouse interest in STEM professions among girls aged 12-14 and introduce them to technology in a fun way. The initiative includes a summer week in which girls are introduced to the various fields through workshops in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology, including courses in mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence and assistive technology. In addition, successful women who have opted for a career in STEM professions will be available as role models and discussion partners for the girls. Rector Sylvia Geyer therefore gladly accepted the invitation to open this year’s graduation event in August and was delighted with the exchange with numerous highly motivated girls.

The Inclusion International project was also involved, and FABI button interfaces were soldered with the girls.
