Representatives of UAS Technikum Wien were present at the Girls! TECH UP Day

30 October, 2023

Exciting hands-on stations, successful female role models and even a federal minister: The seventh edition of Girls! TECH UP was an experience day in the truest sense of the word for hundreds of schoolgirls. Around 700 girls immersed themselves in the diverse world of electrical engineering and information technology at the House of Engineers in Vienna on October 13, 2023, and learned about the professions of the future. Federal Minister Martin Kocher also mingled with the female visitors.

In addition to the many experts, who were happy to answer all curious questions about future careers in technology, there was once again plenty to touch and try out for yourself: This year, for example, the many female students were able to design their own pendants on the computer and print them out using a 3D printer.

At one of the stations with VR glasses, for example, it was possible to plan one’s own solar system. Other booths offered the opportunity to take a look at real robots and even build one themselves. And once again this year, there were class excursions and four smartphones sponsored by A1 to be won.

Amidst the numerous visitors, Martin Kocher, Minister of Labor and Economic Affairs, was also present. He paid a visit to Girls! TECH UP in 2022 and was equally enthusiastic in both years.
