Sharing assistive technologies with civil society – Project presentation at the University of Transilvania Brasov

“Inclusion International” is the name of the project funded by the City of Vienna with the aim to share assistive technologies with civil society and to promote e-Inclusion. A kickoff event took place at the Romanian University Transilvania Brasov.
From December 14 – 16, 2022, the kick-off event took place at the University of Transilvania Brasov (Romania) as part of the Inclusion International project (Proj.-Nr: 33-02) funded by the City of Vienna.
The project team, consisting of Martin Deinhofer, Alija Sabic, Agnes Scheibenreif and Florian Ellinger set out to get to know new partners personally and also to establish first contacts with social institutions. Project leader Deinhofer works as a lecturer / researcher at the FH Technikum Wien. Sharing assistive technologies with civil society and promoting e-inclusion are goals of the project.
Project contributions to promote the internationalization of universities
The Austrian delegation was warmly welcomed at the beginning of the kick-off event by the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Dr. Septimiu Motoasca. During the kick-off event, the project objectives were explained in more detail and potential project contributions to promote the internationalization of universities were discussed. The visit of several university facilities, including various laboratories, was also on the agenda.
The delegation’s trip was concluded with a meeting at the APDF Sf. Haralambie (Association for People with Physical Disabilities). The associations Fundatia Rafael and Hope without Limits also participated. The assistive technologies developed at the FH Technikum Wien (such as AsTeRICS Grid or FABI) were presented. Within the framework of the project, further workshops are planned to provide assistance in the configuration and individual adaptation of the solutions for users, nursing staff and therapists.
