Student at UAS Technikum Wien is Excel World Champion 2024

Benjamin Weber, a student of business informatics, took first place in the competition in Las Vegas.
Benjamin Weber, a 5th semester student of Business Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, has won the Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge 2024 in Las Vegas. Weber prevailed against more than 8,000 participants from all over the world in the “HyperX Arena” in Las Vegas. The student world championship requires the finalists to have extensive Excel skills and the ability to solve problems quickly. In the thrilling final, the bachelor’s student demonstrated exceptional skills and secured not only the title but also a trophy and prize money of $5,000.
Third place last year, now at the top
What is particularly remarkable is that he has now reached the top after coming in third last year. Family and friends in Austria were there to cheer him on live as Benjamin brought the world championship title to Burgenland. In addition to the Collegiate Challenge, he also took part in the open world championship, where he reached the semi-finals – another strong result.

The Excel World Championship is one of the most prestigious events for students worldwide and offers a platform to demonstrate expertise in a high-level competition.
