The Girls! TECH UP-Role Model 2023 is Hüzüme Erkaptan. The 21-year-old from Vienna works as a Project Engineer at Toyota Material Handling Austria and is studying part-time International Industrial Engineering and Management at UAS Technikum Wien. On November 16, 2023, she accepted the award at an exclusive evening event following the OVE Innovation Day in Vienna.

“Technology needs you!”

Numerous female role models from the fields of electrical engineering, information technology and the energy industry had responded to the call and conveyed their enthusiasm for technology and their enjoyment of the profession in short videos they had made themselves. For the first time, female HTL pupils and students of a technical subject were also able to apply. Hüzüme Erkaptan ultimately won the online voting and the jury assessment. In her video, the 21-year-old guides viewers through her varied working day and makes a passionate appeal to young women: “Technology needs you! If you are motivated and interested, don’t hesitate!”.

Mariella Müller, Equality Manager at UAS Technikum Wien, was also on the jury. FHTW Rector Sylvia Geyer was also present at the award ceremony.
