Successful Internationalization: Practical Insights into Low Code & Citizen Development

27 February, 2024

Six students from UAS Technikum Wien took part in the course “Low Code & Citizen Development”, which takes place at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland (partner institution of UASTW).

This academic year, the Master’s Degree Information Systems Management continues to focus on international cooperation. For the second time, six students took part in the “Low Code & Citizen Development” course at our partner university, the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland. Under the direction of Prof. Rainer Endl, the participants were familiarized with a new paradigm of software development in a two-day block course.

Practical applications on selected low-code platforms

The main aim of the course was to give students an insight into the world of low-code development. The focus was on understanding this emerging field and its practical application on selected low-code platforms. To this end, special hands-on workshops were offered, giving students the opportunity to take their first steps on platforms such as Appian and the Robotic Automation Platform (RPA) UIPath. Participants were not only able to acquire theoretical knowledge in the interactive workshops, but also put it directly into practice.

These practical teaching approaches as part of an international cooperation are an important building block for a comprehensive and future-oriented education at UAS Technikum Wien. Thanks to a grant from the International Office of UAS Technikum Wien, the students’ travel costs could be reduced.
