09 August, 2023
FHTW lecturer Miran Jank and his team received the Best Paper Award at this year’s ICIMTH conference in Athens.
For the paper “Extended Reality Solutions in Medical Context and Educational Approaches” Miran Jank (competence area Software Engineering & Architecture) received the Best Paper Award at this year’s ICIMTH conference in Athens. The paper project is a collaborative effort between Computer Science and Life Science Engineering, and in addition to Miran Jank, Fabian Wagner, Philipp Urbauer, Andrea Balz and Mathias Forjan were also involved in the project.
“The conference was very professionally and matter-of-factly organized and covered some current topics like HL7 FHIR, Extended Reality, AI and Mobile Development. All related to health of course. Meeting other presenters from UAS Technikum Wien there was a pleasant surprise for me. In addition, it was possible for me to make international contacts, which will certainly be useful in the further course of the project,” says Miran Jank.
International Conference on Informatics, Management and Technology in the Healthcare Sector
The annual ICIMTH conference is a collaboration with EFMI (European Federation for Medical Informatics) and IMIA (International Medical Informatics Association) and took place for the 21st time in Athens in early July as the International Conference on Informatics, Management and Technology in Healthcare. ICIMTH 2023 invited participants to submit papers, short communication papers, posters, panels, workshops, demonstrations and tutorials. The conference could finally be held as a face-to-face event again this year, following the easing of the corona pandemic situation in Europe.
