“trend” ranking: UAS Technikum Wien, an important driving force for the domestic startup scene

More than 125 graduates of our university work in the top 100 startups in Austria. Six of the companies were founded by UASTW alumni.
In the picture: Biome (rank 18) was founded in 2018 by Barbara Sladek and Nikolaus Gasche and was located at the UAS Technikum Wien until 2022.
Every year, the business magazine “trend” selects the “100 best startups” in Austria. The most recent list from the end of November 2022 illustrates the important role that the FH Technikum Wien plays as an educational institution, impulse provider and cooperation partner for the domestic startup scene. A Linkedin evaluation provides the following results:
- Graduates of the FH Technikum Wien work in at least 42 of the 100 best startups in Austria.
- In total, at least 125 graduates are employed in these companies.
- 7 of the companies were founded by alumni.
- With Biome and Toolsense, 2 of the startups originate from the foundation program of the FH Technikum Wien.
- In 6 others, alumni are active at the highest management level.
