09 July, 2024

Austria’s University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Digitalization is increasing the number of places on 3 degree programmes from the 2025/26 academic year: Business Informatics, Climate-Conscious Building Technology and Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.

At a press conference today, Education Minister Martin Polaschek presented the details of the further expansion of UAS places in the future-oriented fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology with a focus on sustainability and digitalization. Of a total of 350 study places awarded in this area, 70 are allocated to UAS Technikum Wien. Specifically, the following degree programs can be increased from the 2025/26 academic year: The Bachelor’s degree course in Business Informatics (evening form) will receive 15 additional study places, the Master’s degree course in Climate-Conscious Building Technology 30 and the Master’s degree course in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine 25 additional study places.

“As the university of applied sciences with the best applicant rate for technical degree programs in Austria, we welcome this decision, which will enable us to train even more talented students and prepare them for the challenges of the future. The additional places granted reflect the confidence in the quality of our education and the relevance of our degree programs. We are particularly pleased that this decision also promotes equal opportunities for women in technical professions and strengthens their involvement in the technological future. Mixed teams of men and women are crucial for shaping the innovative future and our motto ‘Change Our Tomorrow’,” says Barbara Czak-Pobeheim, Managing Director of UAS Technikum Wien.

Florian Eckkrammer, Managing Director of UAS Technikum Wien, emphasizes the importance of these additional places for Austria as a business and technology location: “In times of a continuing shortage of skilled workers, additional study places are essential to meet the demand for highly qualified and practice-oriented specialists. Our graduates are in high demand in the economy, and with the additional capacity we can prepare even more young people for a successful career and maintain the quality of education at the highest level.”
