UAS Technikum Wien welcomes Incoming Students of the Summer term 2023

23 February, 2023

With the start of the summer semester 2023 the UAS Technikum Wien welcomes 43 new Incoming students from all over the world including Argentina, Germany, Mongolia, South Korea, Spain.

Together with their colleagues, who have already been studying in Vienna for the winter semester, they started their exchange semester at the beginning of February. At the same time 68 students have also left the UAS Technikum Wien to complete a study semester or traineeship abroad.

To give them a great start in their new environment in Vienna and at the UAS Technikum Wien, the International Office hosts an Orientation Week during which Incoming students are able to gather information concerning their daily life not only as students at their host-institution UAS Technikum Wien but also as new residents to the city of Vienna.

Curious and eager for a new adventure, the participants engage in discussions surrounding Austrian culture, living in the country’s capital and studying at the UAS Technikum Wien. During their first week, they attend workshops on local customs and intercultural competence by Nicolai Sawczynski. Another highlight marks the tour through Vienna by Eugene Quinn where our newcomers are able to get a good impression of the place they will call home for the next few months.

Incoming students moreover benefit from having a buddy by their side – a regular student from UAS Technikum Wien who offers guidance in the first weeks in the new semester and helps navigate their new living situation. Assistance is also provided by the members of the Erasmus+ Student Network (ESN) who support our Incoming students in various ways. These programs make intercultural exchange not only possible for our international guests but also give our resident students the opportunity to meet like-minded people from all over the world and to sharpen their understanding of a globalized world.

We wish our Incoming students of the summer term 2023 all the best for their studies with us and their exchange semester in Vienna!
