MIBgoesEAST
Call Nummer: 33-03 | Call Name: Internationalization of Teaching at Vienna’s Universities of Applied Sciences
The Master’s Program MIW (International Industrial Engineering) at the UAS Technikum Wien already offers some interesting aspects of an internationally oriented education, but these are to a large extent optional and are not used by all students (e.g. double degree with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, annual study trip overseas during the semester break, semester abroad, summer schools). The UAS Technikum Wien wants to become more international as an entire organization. Within the scope of the project “MIBgoesEast”, the new internationalization strategy of the UAS Technikum Wien, which was developed under the leadership of the management and the International Office (IO), will be implemented concretely on the basis of the study program MIW (in the future: MIB), in order to gain valuable insights for the roll-out to the entire university. MIW will be further developed as “MIB” (Master Industrial Engineering & Business) from September 2022, with modules abroad and a much more internationally oriented curriculum that will benefit all students. In addition, an extracurricular opportunity will be created.
“MIBgoesEast” will allow internationalization measures to be comprehensively implemented and the knowledge gained to be made available to the other 30 degree programs at our UAS, so that after the end of the project, a broad, low risk and resource-friendly roll-out can be achieved. “MIBgoesEast” will thus catalyze the implementation of our new internationalization strategy and create a lasting added value for the degree program and its students already during the project period. The project lasts 12 months and has a total budget of 100,000 euros.
