Category description

This category recognizes courses and course concepts that use a clear structure and innovative didactic concepts to support students in achieving the intended learning outcomes. The focus is on didactic approaches that accompany the learning process, enable regular feedback and increase studyability. This category emphasizes the importance of well thought-out and learning outcome-oriented teaching concepts. The criteria by which the jury will judge the submissions in this category are as follows: • The concepts enable students to achieve the desired learning outcomes step by step. • Students receive regular feedback to assess and improve their learning progress. • The concepts developed contribute to increasing studyability (e.g. through digital teaching formats or flexible learning concepts). • The concepts developed are transferable and can be used in other courses.

Reasons for submission

e.g. What methods do you use to motivate students to participate actively? Do you use discussion formats, student response systems like Particify, or interactive tasks? Can students contribute to shaping the in-class sessions?

e.g. What measures do you take to ensure that students understand the self-study content and can apply it effectively in class? Do you use assignments as preparation for project work, or do you include specific activities at the beginning of class to activate prior knowledge?

e.g. How do you address the challenges of diverse student backgrounds? What measures do you implement to enable flexible studying? Do you provide students with tools or strategies that help them continue learning effectively beyond your course?
