Category description In view of today's constantly changing world, it is important to address various topics of social interest within technically oriented courses and to ensure direct practical relevance. Various third mission aspects can be taken into account or promoted, if necessary also jointly, such as internationalization, diversity, sustainable development, etc: Internationalization, diversity, Sustainable Development Goals, digitalization, practical linking of research and teaching, cooperation with industry, etc.
The criteria by which the jury will judge the submissions in this category are as follows:
  • The measures implemented contribute to ensuring the direct applicability of what has been learned in real practice.
  • The measures implemented pursue the goal of overcoming current challenges more effectively and in accordance with the values, expectations and needs of society (as defined by RThe measures implemented promote economic thinking and action for the benefit of society.

Reasons for submission

*e.g. How are challenges relating to different environmental or cultural circumstances addressed? Are exemplary corporate practices cited to address (social) problems in different ways?

*e.g. Is the economic viability of projects/procedures discussed in relation to social consequences? Are current practices raised that, for example, contradict the current state of research or supposedly ethical principles?

*e.g. How is independent, innovative thinking and problem solving made possible? To what extent are students given the opportunity to dedicate themselves to the topic of sustainability? Are they given the opportunity to experience themselves as responsible members of society, e.g. through practical collaborations?
