Why did you choose UAS Technikum Wien for your exchange semester?

Seemed like the right choice with it being a technical university and somewhat matched my home institute.

How did you prepare for your stay at UAS Technikum Wien? What practical arrangements did you make before the exchange?

I looked for an apartment that was close to uni and had good access to public transport. I applied for the buddy program and asked my buddy all my open questions.

How did you finance your stay abroad? What is the housing situation like for students?

With the ERASMUS+ money and the support of my parents. I easily found a room in the student dormitories (öjab) and they were in constant contact with me and answered rather fast.

How was studying at the FH Technikum Wien (e.g. courses, lecturers, workload etc.)?

Different then in my home university. It was less in person classes and every week the courses changes, so building a routine is hard. Workload wise it was okay, not that used to doing work at home that much because in my university we learned all of the material in class rather than having to prepare all of it in advance and then just goin over it in class.

How would you describe the Austrian culture and what did you do in your spare time?

I very much liked it here and it wasn’t that big of a change for me aside from the nicer architecture and the better public transport. In my free time I met up with friends and went to different cafes, parks, fleamarkets, concerts, we traveled, went to clubs and bars, had picnics at Donauinsel and so much more. Every week was different and we were always up and about.
